You gain MCSA certification once you have passed 4 MCP's (Microsoft Certified Professional) exams. If you are familiar with the Microsoft Windows platform and use operating systems, servers and networks on a daily basis, you should expect to take between 2-4 months to complete the MCSA. More

Microsoft recommend you have 1 year of commercial experience in supporting Microsoft networks before starting the MCSA. You can also gain the foundation knowledge required by studying the CompTIA A+ and Network+. These also combine to count as the elective for the MCSA. More

MCSA candidates on the Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003 track are required to satisfy the following requirements:

Together with the core exams, the elective exams provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise in solution design and implementation. MCSE candidates should also have at least one year of experience implementing and administering network operating systems and desktop operating systems.
